Uncorked! 2014 kicked off with tastings from area vineyards and breweries…many thanks to Greenvale and Newport Vineyards and to Newport Storm and Foolproof Brewing Company!

As many of you know, the East Bay Food Pantry is an organization with which I’m passionately involved. And on September 12th the agency marked its fifth year of service to the East Bay community at our annual fundraising event, Uncorked! 2014. This post is dedicated to the Board of Directors who worked tirelessly to make the event such a success!

  1. What a wonderful venue and event in support of such an important cause. Congratulations to all on your success.

I didn’t realize that the Pantry was just five years old. So much has been accomplished in such a relatively short time.

    Terrific!

    1. It’s been a pleasure to work with such a great group of women. I’m confident I speak for them when when I say we would be happy if the pantry wasn’t needed and we all hope someday that will be the case. Thank you for your support from afar! You’ve offered some objective guidance from your own experience that has been quite helpful.

  2. The pictures say it all….congratulations to so many making your event such a HUGE success!! And to Loretta…and outstanding leader and organizer who gives of her time and talent passionately for such a worthy cause!

    1. It was so nice to see your comment, Arnie! Your words are too kind. I was only one of a committee and some of the other members left me in their dust. We are so fortunate to have a group of energetic, talented and committed board members. If you were here, we’d put you to work for us! Thanks for stopping by again.

  3. Thank you for posting the beautiful pictures from the Uncorked evening, Loretta. What a terrific event…congratulations again on it’s success. The EBFP Events Committee should be still on a high after the wonderful evening of raising money and awareness….and having a good time, too. Congrats!

    1. It was great to have your support from afar as Uncorked! was being planned. And I’m certain you’ll be hearing from me again for advice…you are after all one of the superstars of event planning. Too bad you don’t live in Rhode Island! And yes, the committee is still on a high but now looking to the future and the next project. As always, thanks for visiting the website.

  4. Congratulations on your part in planning such a wonderful event for such a great cause! It looks like it was a huge success. Sorry we do not live a bit closer. Birthday wishes to a certain GEM.

    1. We are also sorry you don’t live closer, Kathy! What fun we’d have working for our causes…and in so many other ways! I will pass on the B-Day wishes. He seems to be taking it well this year. 😉 Thanks for visiting.

  5. Lovely time and excellent coverage of Uncorked 2014 on your site. Wrt the photo of our table, a really nice one of Beverly, MaryKae & hubby are literally ‘star-struck’ and I, as usual, am dumb-struck! Already looking forward to next year. Congratulations a job very well done.

    1. Wonderful to see your comments, Gary! Yes, unfortunately those table decorations did block some of the attendees…I like the way you put it though. So glad you enjoyed the evening and thank you for your ongoing support of EBFP. Thanks for visiting the website…I hope to see you back here again.

  6. Great job Loretta!! Meredith said you did a wonderful job and it was a great success! Hope to see you soon.

    1. I was so glad you could attend Uncorked! this year. We have such a great team at the EBFP from board members to staff and our incredible volunteers. But we couldn’t do what we do without supporters like you who attend events and make donations. Thank YOU for helping!

  8. Your steadfast devotion to the mission of the EBFP and your unwavering attention to detail has helped to make Uncorked the best it has ever been. We are all truly grateful!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Grace! Your words are too kind. Truly, we have the best board and the best event team working for the EBFP mission. Look what we can do together. Thank YOU!

  9. Congratulations on the great work your are doing. Your interest in this fact of life is heartwarming. I know a great lady who would be even more so so proud of you & all that you do. I miss her so so much.

    1. So do I Greta…terribly…every day…and especially as her birthday draws near. She was a special, special lady and I know she would be proud. But thank you for reminding me. And thank you for your lovely comment.

  10. Loretta, Congratulations on the success of the pantry event! I know the people who receive the benefits of the success are appreciative. My father and sometimes my mother work the food pantry in Dover every Thursday and Friday and I had the opportunity to tour the work that they do last year. You and Geoff are an inspiration to us all.

    1. Back at CC and you would not believe the seal sightings at Coast Guard beach…hundreds! And no camera! Ugh! As always, thanks so much for visiting the website and for your lovely comments. Will be seeing you soon!

  11. Great post, Loretta! What a wonderful cause! Let us know how we can help in the future. I owe you for all the support you have give me in my charity endeavors!!!
